Dear Friends,

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 16, a devastating fire destroyed the Citzler Center at Lutherhill. We are profoundly grateful that all staff and retreat guests are safe, and that the rest of camp remains unharmed. But the fire resulted in a complete loss of the building and its contents.

The Citzler Center was both home to our Program Associate, Rowdy Weidemann, and a vital storage and laundry facility. Everything inside was lost—Rowdy’s personal belongings, camp furniture needed to prepare cabins for
retreats, laundry facilities, and other essential items.

We are working closely with fire officials and insurance representatives. The cause has unofficially been deemed “unknown,” and while insurance will eventually help, our needs are urgent right now. Retreat season begins soon, and without furniture and supplies, we cannot welcome families and groups as planned.

We need your help today.
• To replace critical furniture and supplies lost in the fire
• To support Rowdy as he rebuilds after losing everything
• To bridge the gap until insurance support arrives

Any funds raised beyond these immediate needs will go toward our Come to the Table | Gather Together campaign, ensuring Lutherhill continues to thrive. You can give your donations here:

Thank you for surrounding Lutherhill and Rowdy with your prayers and support today.

Peace,
