Judeth Mary Gaignard Vinson passed away on July 3, 2025, at her home at Belmont Village in Houston, Texas, following a lengthy illness.  She is survived by her husband, Terence Michael Vinson; son Stephen Michael and his wife Asma Afsaruddin; and son Jon David Vinson, as well as niece Karen Gaignard, and nephews Allen Rodriguez and Jonathan Vinson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Banner and Jules Hubert Gaignard, and two brothers, David and Stephen Gaignard.

Judeth was born on Dec. 8, 1939, in Shreveport, Louisiana.   She was a proud graduate of Byrd High School, and attended Centenary College in Shreveport, where she met her future husband Terence, whom she married on Easter Sunday, 1959. When her two sons reached their teens, Judeth returned to school for paralegal training; she also spent many years as an office administrator at the Texas Medical Center in Houston.

Judeth was a passionate believer in social justice and often worked as a volunteer in Democratic political campaigns from the local to the national level.  She was also a long-time, active member of the League of Women Voters.  She was a great lover of books, the mysteries of Agatha Christy or any work of history, especially medieval history, and she instilled her love of books, history and politics in her sons. She was wonderfully artistic, with a great eye for antiques, and had a wry and mischievous sense of humor.  She was devoted to her husband Terence until the final days of her life.

A memorial gathering will be held at the columbarium at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Rice Village on Saturday, July 26, at 11 a.m. with a reception immediately following in the parish hall.
