Freewheels Houston: Putting Goals Within Reach

Ehsan’s job prospects were bleak because he couldn’t get to interviews. Today, the refugee from Afghanistan is riding a Freewheels Houston bike to work and classes and helping support his family. His goal of a career in the medical field is within reach.

Freewheels–which was launched at Christ the King Church in 2015–is the beneficiary of the monthly Mission Offering in August.

Ehsan arrived in the United States from Afghanistan in August 2024 with his family. He has a job working with youth at the YMCA and he is enrolled in Houston Community College classes within the Texas Medical Center.

He is grateful to Freewheels for his bike and he thinks it’s a great idea for anyone to donate a bicycle they don’t use. “If you don’t need something, other people might!”
