Dear faithful People of Christ the King Lutheran Church:

Given all the challenges of these days, including the rising tensions as Election Day nears, we on the church staff want to provide as much comfort and support as possible. Therefore, beginning this week, we are providing the following:

  1. SANCTUARY – before and after each service, we ask worshipers to consider our nave to be safe and quiet space for all. Some of us come to worship or stay afterward to pray, meditate, or simply be quietly alone. Please do not disturb those who are engaged in quiet meditation
  2. HEALING BLESSING – laying on of hands and anointing is always a part of our Saturday liturgy. After each Sunday service, there will be two ministers of healing available in the nave; one on the west side of the organ, the other near the Memorial Garden/Columbarium window.
  3. PASTORAL PRESENCE – between 6:45 and 7:15 each Wednesday evening, either Deacon Ben or I will be available in the nave for quiet conversation, prayer, or anointing for healing before choir rehearsal.
  4. POST-ELECTION VESPERS – at 6:45 pm, Wednesday, November 4, 2026, to reflect and pray for our Nation and our newly elected leaders.

PARKING: Both of our parking lots are open and available.
Also, during Rice University’s current construction, we can access the Rice parking lots by entering through entrance 13a from Greenbriar and parking as close to the construction fence as you are able.
