Dear faithful People of Christ the King Lutheran Church:
I’d like you to keep me, among others, in your prayers this week. Early tomorrow morning – Tuesday, July 28 – I’ll undergo a procedure to remove a small growth on the back of my left kidney that was discovered at the beginning of May. While this may or may not be malignant, it is easily removed via a cryoablation, i.e. freezing the growth to kill it. It is not very invasive, but it does require full anesthesia. I expect to be out of commission until Tuesday, August 4, 2026, exactly one year since I began serving as interim pastor.
If you have a pastoral care need this week, please contact Cheryl Gaspard who will connect you to the appropriate pastoral caregiver.
Also beginning Tuesday, exactly one year since we loaned our Rice Boulevard parking lot to GL Leach Constructors, we expect to have full use of all our newly striped parking lots with clearer directional arrows.
It’s been a very productive Christ the King Church summer for which we can all give God thanks and praise!
Peace and Joy – and Courage!
Mandy
