Report on Congregation Council Retreat

The Congregation Council retreated to Lutherhill on Galveston Island this past weekend, January 9 & 10, 2026, to plan for the success of Christ the King Church’s ministry and mission this year. As part of their work, the Council elected its officers.

President – Martina Longoria (’26)

Vice President – Federico Salas-Isnardi (’26)

Treasurer – Christopher Bryant

Financial Secretary – Eldon Thomas

Secretary – Daniel Zorn (’27)

Caroline Friberg (’28) was elected as a non-officer Council Member to join President Longoria, Vice President Salas-Isnardi, and Interim Pastor Derr on the Council’s Executive Committee.

The Council elected Irmgard Willcockson to fill the council seat vacated by the resignation of Adrienne Winston (’27) just prior to the retreat. Please congratulate Ms. Willcockson on her election; and thank Ms. Winston for her years of service on the Congregation Council.

The Council invites everyone to attend Part 2 of the Congregation’s Annual Meeting at 9:45 a.m., Sunday, February 15, 2026, in the Parish Hall.

Process to Elect Delegates to and Voting Members of the Synod Assembly

As pursuant to Article C5.04 of the Constitution for Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church this congregation will elect 3 (three) members during Part 2 of the Congregation’s Annual Meeting to serve as delegates to and voting members of this year’s ELCA Synod Assembly of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast, which will be held May 15-16, 2026, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Sugar Land, Texas.
