The
Village Church with a Global Mission
Christ
the King Evangelical Lutheran Church is a community of faith
committed to the mission of proclaiming to the world the message
of God’s reconciling work revealed in Jesus Christ and
proceeding in the Spirit of God. We share a common faith with
Christians everywhere who baptize in the name of the Father,
and the Son, and Holy Spirit. That faith is expressed in the
rich liturgical life of the congregation, which leads us back
to our baptism and invites us to the Lord’s table. There
we eat and drink in anticipation that God’s justice
will prevail over the evil that we find in our own selves
and in the world around us. To that end we continually educate
children and adults to appreciate the elusive but real presence
of God in the world and to bring faith to expression in word
and deed. It is in our actions as a caring community of faith
that we celebrate the surprising presence of God with us.
We are
Lutheran Christians who believe that without any merit on
our own part God created us, redeemed us, and is transforming
us through the proclamation of God’s love in word and
sacrament. We are convinced that we cannot save ourselves
“by our own understanding or effort.” The gospel
we preach is a message of forgiveness that frees us to let
God be truly God and to let humans be truly human. That is
why we are a singing people dedicated to the language of music
which communicates the mystery of life and the glory of God
among us.
Please
