Parking at Christ the King Church

Our parking situation has changed with the demolition of the building on Greenbriar on the south side of our building. This land belongs to Rice University and will be returned to grass until the university decides how it may be used.

In the meantime, Rice has been extraordinarily considerate of our congregation’s need for parking and has made the west stadium lot available to us on Sundays, Saturdays and Wednesday evenings. Persons attending Christ the King Church at those times may simply push the intercom button at entrance 13B and the monitor will raise the arm for entry. The west stadium lot is open at other times for $1 payable by credit card only.

In order to ensure the safety of our members, friends, and visitors, the congregation has budgeted for a police officer to assist pedestrians crossing Greenbriar on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. We are talking with the Rice University Police Department in order to engage their officer(s) in this work.

We would like to ask that our west parking lot by the parish hall be reserved for visitors, persons with limited mobility, and families with small children.

Parking on the Rice Village Animal Hospital lot is still available during non-business hours: Sundays all day, Saturdays after 12:30 p.m. and weekdays after 6:30 p.m.
