Faith in Action - Our Members in Ministry

fieldersA Thank You from Malawi
The Fielder Family
Lilongwe, Malawi

31 December 2009
Dear Friends in Christ,
We would like to express our gratitude for your recent gift in support of our ministry. We are only able to serve here because of the generosity of others. Thank you for helping us to fulfill our call to serve the people of Malawi.
We have faced many challenges this first year, but God’s grace has been sufficient. Language learning has helped to lay the foundation for ministry. A new hospital ward is set to open. Amanda and I have tried to become as involved as much as possible with our Malawian church, assisting with Sunday school, reading Scripture, and visiting the orphan support program. Matthew and Aaron have thrived.
We look forward to participating in what the Lord has planned for 2010. The clinic is anticipating a grant from the US government to aid other mission hospitals in improving HIV care. I hope to teach as part of this program. And we are privileged to still have a part in supporting the work in Kenya, where a new maternity ward serving vulnerable women and children will be constructed.
On behalf of our family and those whom we serve, thank you.
Grace and Peace, Jon, Amanda, Matthew and Aaron

beadsThank you for opening your heart for BeadforLife. We received your BeadParty Return along with $1,930.00 in funds raised as of 12/23/2009. Your return is complete, and the funds you raised make such a big difference in the lives of our beaders! We now have more than 390 women involved in making the bead jewelry. Since the average family size is about 10 people, this means 3900 people (and more) are directly benefiting from the opportunity to earn a living. Your willingness to educate yourselves and others regarding the situation in Uganda is most appreciated.
We have made good progress in the last months - thanks to you and other hosts around the country. If you read THE BEAD Newsletter, you will know we are making great strides in expanding the services to our beaders and their communities. Please re-visit the website for more news and features at www.beadforlife.org.
We hope you know how much we appreciate you and how your efforts over the past months have helped.
Thank you and "Appoiyo"

Thank You, Christ the King Church member Donna Vass for coordinating this special project.

Coffee for Marines - Thank You

I have just mailed out the receipts for the money your church donated for the Coffee for Marines program.  Once again, I wanted to share a tremendous THANK YOU for all that your congregation has done in helping to support this. Thanks to your generosity, I was able to reach my goal of 400 boxes of instant coffee and even managed to donate some whole bean for some of the families here at home.
Hope your holidays were wonderful and thank you again.
- Cory Reckeweg
Last Fall, Christ the King Church members had the opportunity to donate Ready Brew single-serving instant coffee to the U.S. Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan. This project was coordinated by former Marine Sgt Cory Reckeweg, who is the son of Christ the King Church member Linda McGraw.
