Souper Bowl Of Caring - February 7

souperbowl potSupport our youth on Super Bowl Sunday, February 7, as they reach out to help people who hunger and hurt. In a grassroots movement, youth all over the U.S. have instituted the Souper Bowl of Caring on this important day in the football season. The collection of February 7 will be included with our January Mission Offering for SEARCH.

On a day when the world is focused on football and fun, young people across the country are quietly raising millions of dollars to help people who are hungry and hurting. Since 1990, Souper Bowl of Caring has raised $60 million for charities across the country. It comes at a time of year when donations are down because the flurry of holiday giving is over; yet hunger takes no holiday. Souper Bowl of Caring is a way for young people to touch lives and fight hunger and poverty in their local communities. For this new year, 14,742 groups have already registered to raise funds and raise awareness.

At Christ the King Church, the youth will collect donations after services as Mission Offering for February 7 and report the collected amount to Souper Bowl of Caring. Our amount will be added to all of the other collection amounts across the country that day so a national total can be reported to the media! Then, we will deliver 100% of the collection directly to our charity of choice, which will be SEARCH. Maybe someday the results of this collection will be shared on national television during the Super Bowl football game! For now, we personally thank you for supporting this important youth-led effort, and we will report the results in “The King’s Banner.”
