German Christmas Market Fundraiser: December 12Youth volunteers are needed to help sell fresh, crispy waffles and hot chocolate at the annual Christkindlmarkt, or Christmas market, on Saturday, December 12 from 8:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the church courtyard. Volunteers are welcome to come and go and work in shifts as they are able. All profits benefit the Luther League. Please contact Tim Lenz for more information. Elves and More Bicycle Assembly: December 16Do you remember getting your first bicycle? On Wednesday, December 16, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. CTK Church members and friends ages 9 and up will have the chance to help a child receive their first bike by volunteering to help assemble bikes with the Elves and More program at the Reliant Center. Bike assembly is easy and can be learned quickly. Younger volunteers can test drive bikes or assemble. All volunteers must register at www.elvesandmore.org and donate a mandatory $20 per person or $50 per family. Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation email for check in. All who wish to carpool should meet at the church at 4:30 p.m. Bring your friends, your family, or just yourself to this wonderful event and be a part of a volunteer experience unlike any other. Tree Decoration and Christmas Party - December 20All 6th – 12th grade youth are invited to our annual Christmas tree decorating and Christmas party on Sunday, December 20 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. We will meet in the narthex at 4:00 p.m. to decorate the tree. Afterwards, we will move to the youth room for our party which will include great food, fellowship, games, and a white elephant gift exchange. Please bring a gift under $15 (new or used) for the gift exchange. Gifts are typically something laying around the house that you don’t want and that is funny, tacky, or “Gag Gift.” The main entrée will be provided but side dishes and desserts are needed for our feast! Buy a Pie from the Luther League on Christmas Eve Instead of traveling to the grocery store this Christmas for pies, purchase one or two freshly baked homemade pies from the Luther League before and after the Christmas Eve services on December 24. The homemade pies are $15 each and will be filled with fresh and colorful blueberries or cherries. Fill your home with the sweet aroma of a homemade pie this Christmas! |
