[God] comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.” (II Cor. 1:4, The Message)
Community of Hope is a 13 week course designed to awaken participants to God’s call in their lives and to help them discover their spiritual gifts for ministry. Class participants are encouraged to take this time to deepen their own spiritual pilgrimage into wholeness, by exploring a ‘rule of life,’ prayer practices, compassionate listening, and pastoral identity all within the context of Benedictine spirituality. Sharing worship, meals and stories in a safe confidential group setting builds community so that we become spiritually-centered pastoral lay ministers. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. We are presently exploring the possibility of a Community of Hope class in 2010.
