Luther League

calendarLuther League Meetings

All 6th – 12th grade youth are invited to the basement youth room on most Sundays at 6:00 p.m. for food, fellowship and discussion. All ages gather together for food and opening activities but the youth then split into a middle school and high school group for discussion and Bible study time.

Sunday Night Meals

Families and members who enjoy supporting the Luther League are needed to help with meals for the youth on Sunday nights. Meals can range from anything home-cooked to store bought or catered. Enough food to serve 15-20 people should be provided. Feel free to team up with another family or work individually! Please contact Tim Lenz for more information or to sign up.

CCSC School Drive Served Over 6,000 Students

Thanks to all the volunteers who served at the Christian Community Service Center Back-to-School Event on August 8 at Faith Lutheran Church in Bellaire. Through the local event and community partners, 6,036 students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade received a new, comprehensive package of school supplies, a voucher for new uniforms/shoes, and gently used clothing and shoes. Thanks to Erik Biegert, the Bourne family, Tim Lenz, Augustin and Franz Liebster, Kristen and Ryan Morris, Cindi and Julia Scruggs, and Adrienne Winston for helping make a difference in the lives of these children.

57 Shoes Donated to Orphans

Thanks to all who helped with the Shoes for Orphan Souls drive at Christ the King Church. 57 shoes and 10 pairs of socks were collected in the month of August. Shoes for Orphan Souls, a ministry of Buckner International, has distributed more than 1.8 million pairs of new shoes to at-risk children in the United States and to orphans in 68 countries around the world. Many of these children have never owned a new pair of shoes.
