Health Care for All Texas

Members of Christ the King Lutheran Church are invited to attend a conference on Sunday, September 13, 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m: “Toward Faithful Reform of U. S. Health Care.” The event will be held at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 5100 Main, in the Jones Building.

The conference is sponsored by Health Care for All Texas, a grassroots healthcare advocacy group. Funding in part is being provided by the Presbyterian Association for Community Transformation, The Presbyterian Church (USA), from a grant authorized by their General Assembly in 2008 specifically for universal health care reform conferences.

The goals of the conference are to become aware of the challenge of U. S. health care reform, to inform faith communities about single-payer universal health care, and to engage and motivate faith communities to earnest prayer, intentional education, and decisive action in responding to the challenge.

Health care has always been a concern of the religious communities of the world, and it has become at this time a critical matter for judgment and decision in the United States. Faith communities will be well served by hearing and engaging with the issues presented at the conference.

If you are interested in attending the conference, please contact Beverly Davis at for more information.
