Church Council Resolution in honor of Pr. Edwin D. Peterman
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his ordination as a pastor in the Lutheran church,
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman served as pastor to the flock of Christ the King Lutheran Church for 30 years,
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman has consistently and selflessly performed his duties in fulfillment of his call to ordained ministry with the highest degree of integrity and faithfulness to the gospel of Jesus Christ,
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman has been for the church a truly extraordinary preacher and teacher of the Word of God,
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman has faithfully administered the sacraments in accordance with the confessions of the church and the interpretation of Holy Scripture, sharing the means of grace with all the baptized,
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman has modeled and taught all to live a life that balances immense respect for religious tradition with healthy skepticism for human institutions,
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman has tirelessly advocated for the oppressed and ignored children of God, fighting for change in both civil and religious institutions to make them more righteous expressions of the kingdom of God,
WHEREAS the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman has in his interactions with others constantly made God’s desire to share God’s joy and laughter with his children a”pun”dantly clear,
and WHEREAS in his 50 years of work as a pastor the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman has inspired countless others to join him in the mission of the Church to be Christ’s presence in the world,
therefore be it RESOLVED that Christ the King Lutheran Church offer thanks and praise to God for God’s humble and faithful servant, the Rev. Edwin D. Peterman,
and FURTHER that Christ the King Lutheran Church express its sincere gratitude to the Rev Edwin D. Peterman and Jane Peterman for their faithful response to God’s call.
