Recognition of 2009 Graduates

There will be a rite of milestone observance of graduation in both services on May 10, followed by a cake reception.

If you are receiving a degree from high school, undergraduate, or graduate programs, we would like to know! Email the church office with details about your graduation date and any plans you have for your future. High school seniors will receive a gift from the Piecemakers.

Nichole Wilson
is graduating from Lutheran High North. She plans to attend Grand Valley State University in Michigan. Nichole is in National Honor Society and enjoys singing in the school choir and being with her family and friends. Nichole worked at a local daycare during her junior and senior years which was an awesome experience and taught her a lot about children. From this she chose to major in Elementary Education.

Meredith Murphy
is graduating from Lamar High School where she participated on the swim team, in water polo, Young Life, culinary arts, and the yearbook. Her favorite subjects included English, Biology, Anatomy, and Economics. Meredith has been an active member of the National Charity League which is a volunteer program for mothers and daughters. She also participated in the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin, She enjoys backpacking in Colorado and working at Hungry’s Café, The Guild Shop, and Pappasito’s Cantina Mexican restaurant.
Meredith will attend Texas Tech in the fall where she hopes to rush in a sorority, major in nursing and minor in journalism.

Kimberly Swart Kruger
will be graduating from Rice University with a BA in English and Biological Sciences. During her time at Rice, she participated in Houston Lutheran Campus Ministry. She also served as the coordinator for the English as a Second Language Tutoring Program.
After graduating, she plans to attend the University of Texas School of Public Health in order to attain a MA in Public Health Education and Promotion.

Elizabeth Schellhase
will graduate on May 9 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance from Rice University. Unless she wins a job with an orchestra over the summer, next fall she plans to attend The Colburn School, a music conservatory in Los Angeles, where she will be pursuing a Performance Studies Certificate.

Andrea Salas
will be graduating on May 9, with an Associate’s Degree in science from Lone Star College-Cy Fair. She will be transferring to a four year college next fall to complete her undergraduate degree.

Annika Graham
will be graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio May 8 with a B.A. in English.
June 12 she leaves for Moldova where she will be serving with the Peace Corps, teaching English in a school.

Anna Graml
is graduating from Louisiana State University this May with a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences. She will do her post-graduate internship in Dietetics at Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon.
