News Flash: The peanut butter crisis “smears” the Houston Food Bank.
The HFB needs many extra workers to sort through all of the donated food on hand to eliminate the many foods that contain the contaminated peanut butter. This checking and sorting is in addition to the normal demands for volunteers. The HFB must be sure its food is free of contaminated products before the supplies can be sent to the agencies that feed the hungry. Join volunteers from Christ the King Church on March 14 to help protect the food sent out from the HFB.
