March 27-28, the Luther League and eight local churches in our synod will be joining the efforts to set aside the usual “stuff” that fills their daily lives and instead, “Will Starve for Food” – the theme for World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine this year -- by going without food for 30 hours to get a taste of what the world’s poorest children and families face everyday. During this time they will engage in different activities, including community service projects, fellowship and games, bible study, and awareness events. Prior to the event weekend, students raise funds with the knowledge that every $30 they raise can help feed and care for a child for a month. To participate or to make a donation please contact Tim Lenz.
30 Hour Famine is an international youth movement to fight hunger. It will bring your group closer together and to God, feed hungry children, and change our world forever. Fast for thirty hours and raise funds to help feed and care for children around the world. By sacrificing and serving others, they are learning to think outside themselves and see the world as Christ sees it.
