Thrivent Builds

logoLocated just north of Houston, Cypress is the future home of two Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity families. Though Cypress was located directly in Hurricane Ike’s path, it is not the immediate destruction caused by the storm, but rather the lingering after effects that present a new challenge for the Mitchell and Rangel families. Work began on both homes last summer, but a shortage of volunteers is now slowing progress. In the wake of Hurricane Ike, many dedicated Habitat volunteers are still occupied with cleanup projects in the greater Houston area. Without sufficient volunteers to work on these homes, their completion is endangered. Building will resume on January 10.
Volunteers interested in helping the Mitchell and Rangel families come home in the New Year are encouraged to contact Ken Dinges.

Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are build days at the Cypress sites, and no experience is needed! Donations toward construction expenses also are gratefully accepted.
