Thirty-five Christ the King volunteers worked on two Saturdays in September to assist the Houston Food Bank with the extra demand caused by IKE. We exceeded our best previous effort in sending volunteers.
Not only were we numerous, we received compliments. The person supervising the Lucy Line, welcomed us back and said, "Christ the King sends the Houston Food Bank the best workers--fast, smart, and very careful." She forgot to mention that we are very good looking. Thanks to all of you for a job well done.
Mark your calendars; we go again Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008. Wash and wear your green apple tee shirt so you look good. I have a few extra tee shirts available for new workers. Come try one on and join us.
