New Community Of Hope Class Starts in August

Do you want to deepen your spiritual growth? Do you want to learn what to say to people who are hurting? Do you want to connect more significantly with other Christians? If you answered yes to any of the previous questions, then our Community of Hope may be your answer. The Community of Hope is a lay minister training that originated out of the Pastoral Care Department of St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in 1994. Christ the King Church is a Community of Hope center and offers this 13-week, 42-hour training annually. The purpose of the class is to awaken participants to God’s call on their lives and to help them discover their spiritual gifts for ministry. Each participant is encouraged to make this experience a journey into wholeness, to use this time to explore a ‘rule of life,’ Christian meditation, compassionate listening, pastoral identity and lectio divina, all within the context of Benedictine spirituality. This experience builds community and develops spiritually centered pastoral caregivers. The class begins August 18 and will meet on Monday evenings from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. For more information, contact Beverly Davis. Deadline for registration is August 7.
