National Cancer Survivors Day─June 1
Christ the King Lutheran Church will join with congregations throughout our country on June 1 in offering prayers of thanksgiving and support for cancer patients and survivors everywhere, especially within our own congregational family. This year we particularly remember our beloved member Faith Venverloh, and honor our other CanCare volunteers, Patty Stone, Brannon Lloyd, and Steve Wentland through our June 1 Mission Offering.
Volunteer Training
CanCare has an urgent need for cancer survivors and their family members to volunteer in CanCare’s member hospitals. Volunteers use their cancer survivorship to encourage others facing cancer in 12 area hospitals and treatment facilities, or they provide one-on-one support to someone diagnosed with the same type of cancer. Schedules are short and flexible and all hospitals provide free parking. The next training will be held June 20-22.
