Volunteer at the Houston Food Bank

On March 8, 2008, Christ the King Church had 17 volunteers for the Houston Food Bank work day, including two new persons: Chingdao Lee, a new member of Christ the King Church, and Peter Nikonowicz, who worked with us for the first time now that he has turned 8 years of age. We volunteers packed over two tons of loose pinto beans donated by HEB into 2-pound bags, boxed them, and sent them into storage on palates. We were exhausted, but proud of our efforts.

Our next trip is scheduled for May 10.
Everyone is invited to join us. We will have a group lunch afterwards for the volunteers. Details to come in the emails in May.
Our thanks to Faith Venverloh who made a generous contribution to the Houston Food Bank in recognition for the volunteers at Christ the King Church. We thank her, and look forward to putting her back to work when her good health has returned.
