May 4 and 11: Evangelical Lutheran Church of Central African Republic

Carolyn Jacobs will talk about her journey to the Central African Republic (CAR), as a participant in the ELCA-sponsored companion synod trip in February.

On May 4, she will give background and focus on the Evangelical Lutheran Church of CAR.
On May 11, she will emphasize life in CAR and the personal experience of the trip. Slides will be shown at both presentations.

May 18 The West Texas Polygamists: Law, Religion and Children’s Rights
On May 18, the Sunday Forum will feature CTK members Jim Paulsen and Susan Myres Uri on the topic: “The West Texas Polygamists: Law, Religion and Children’s Rights.” Jim teaches family law at the South is a board-certified family law attorney who currently represents several FLDS children as a State Bar of Texas volunteer attorney.

The ever popular book reviews return with the exception of June 15, when David Brondos, the missionary we support in Mexico City, will talk about his work with the Lutheran seminary in Mexico City.
