Carolyn Phillips presented, and received a check for 10,000 Villages. Carolyn presented the check on behalf of The Zonta Club of Houston, Educational and Charitable Fund, where she is the Status of Women/Service Coordinator and received the check for 10,000 Villages where she is a board member. Carolyn is a member of Christ the King Church.
Congratulations to member Peggy Simon for her work on the board of The Forge for Families, Inc. Peggy recently planned and hosted a successful fund-raising dessert reception for this faith-based and family-focused non-profit agency. The Forge’s mission is to enrich the spiritual, educational, vocational, and leadership development of inner city families through Christ-centered mentoring, bringing transforming growth to Houston’s Third Ward community. The Forge presently serves 501 at-risk children and teenagers, 211 adults, and 287 families through numerous programs utilizing 11 staff and 414 volunteers. Learn more about the ministry of The Forge
Christ the King member Ralf Krahe participated in the MS 150 cycling adventure between Houston and Austin in April. This fundraiding event provides the resources to find a cure for multiple sclerosis and gives assistance to those persons afflicted with this disease.
