Martin Marty January 13 and 14

photoDistinguished Professor Martin E. Marty will preach on January 13 in the 8:30 and 10:50 a.m. services. Professor Marty will also speak at Sunday Forum at 9:45 that morning on the theme, “When Faiths Collide.” Marty will deliver two evening lectures based on his latest book, The Mystery of the Child (Eerdmans).

There is no fee for these events, but donations are gladly accepted to cover expenses.

Dr. Marty is the Fairfax M. Cone Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at the University of Chicago, where he taught chiefly in the Divinity School for 35 years and where the Martin Marty Center has since been founded to promote “public religion” endeavors. The Rev. Dr. Marty is a Lutheran pastor, author of more than 50 books, columnist for The Christian Century, and weekly contributor to Sightings, electronic editorial published by the Marty Center at the University of Chicago Divinity School primarily in the fields of history and religion.
