To help fund some of our children’s programs, we are having a tag sale on Saturday, May 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the parish hall. We are asking you to consider what you may have around your home. Due to the large amount of leftover clothes we’ve experienced in past years, we are only accepting adult designer clothes in pristine condition and near-perfect baby, toddler and children’s clothes.
If possible, bring your items prepriced to the library beginning after services on Sunday, May 13. You may also drop off items during church hours throughout that week in the parish hall, which is also open in the evenings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of that week until 8:00 p.m. If you are able, use tape or a label to price each item to help us reduce set-up time and labor. Certain items are big sellers. Some ideas:
· Costume or vintage jewelry
· Purses/bags
· Watches
· Electronics – TVs, VCRs, Walkmans, stereos
· Tools – including garden tools and lawn mowers
· Collectibles
· Sporting goods – tennis rackets, golf clubs, etc.
· Sneakers
· Baseball caps and visors
· Light fixtures
· Extra tiles
· Appliances (manual included if necessary)
· Kitchen Accessories
· Bedding (mark size – twin, double, etc.)
· Costumes
· Baby Gear – strollers, cribs, etc.
· CDs/Tapes
If you are donating vintage or antique items, or items that are rather new or in excellent condition, please make a note on its age and where it was purchased. For any electronics or appliances, please indicate whether they are working and include all necessary wires/parts and a manual, if possible. The small appliances really must work; larger appliances that are not working might still be purchased.
We ask that you advise us of any large and/or valuable donations (tell us about them so we can sell them for the right price) prior to delivery. You may contact Jessica Cannon. All remaining items will be donated to a local charity.
Volunteers Needed for Tag Sale
Our fourth annual churchwide tag sale is only a month away, and we are in need of volunteers to help for one Friday evening and/or one Saturday morning. If you have only a couple of hours to spare, we WILL use you! Please consider helping in one of the following ways:
Friday, May 18
The afternoon/night before the tag sale involves arranging and pricing items
for the next morning. We need people to help:
·Organize the parish hall in household categories.
·Place items in the correct area. ·Display items as best as possible.
·Price items. (If anyone is knowledgeable in pricing, we really need you! This is a key area and most difficult for us. If we don’t price the item high enough, we make less money for our children’sprograms!)
·Make signs.
·Eat the yummy treats and beverages that we bring!
·Purchase items for yourself. If you help us, then you get first dibs Friday evening!
Saturday, May 19
Our sale takes place from 8:30 a.m. until 12 noon. We need people to help:
·Answer questions from potential buyers.
·Price items “on the spot” if necessary. (Prices may fall off or get missed the night before.)
·Play cashier. (We need two to three people.)
·Transport leftover items to charities. (Those of you with pick-up trucks or large SUVs are greatly needed!)
·Clean up. (Help pick up the parish hall as much as possible.)
Please contact Jessica Cannon for more information or to sign up as a volunteer. Thank you!
