What is a Faith Chest?
A Faith Chest is the gift part of the Milestone
Ministry of Baptism. The chest is presented to a recently baptized infant and
parents during a home visit which helps parents and congregation to partner in
keeping the promises made during Baptism.
Each chest is hand made by Don Rice, a Community of Hope (COH) chaplain. It is
then stained and finished by Irmi Willcockson. Two COH chaplains deliver the chest
and lead a ceremony designed to be reused at various milestones in the child’s
life.
