Did you know that there are an estimated 27 million people in bondage today? In addition to chattel slaves (absolute legal ownership of a person or persons, including the legal right to buy and sell them) and sex slaves in Africa and Asia, there are documented cases of human trafficking in affluent neighborhoods in the United States.
This is a human rights issue that we need to learn about and address because
NO ONE should have to live in slavery.
Jesse Sage, editor of the book “Enslaved: True Stories of Modern Day Slavery”
and a contributor to the book will be in the Gathering Place at Living
Word Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 4 at 12:30 p.m. for a lunch and
forum on what the reality of slavery is and how we can take necessary actions
to rid the world of such cruelty. A book signing will follow the forum at 2:00
p.m.
Please RSVP by February 28 to Jessica
Noonan or 281-392-2300.
Also, there will be a special presentation on Saturday, March 3 at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
