A trip to Lima, Peru is scheduled for June 21 - June 25. Churches represented are Spirit of Joy, Living Word, Grace and Joyful Life. Members of Christ the King Church are invited to join them and make Christ’s love known through us.
The plan is to visit the different churches and to build relationships with our companion churches in Lima. Our focus for the weekend is on the festival that Saturday. In the morning we’ll have a children’s festival. In recent years we used a VBS format, but the event has gotten so big (450 kids last year) that this year we’ll make it more of a festival with the different U.S churches each working a booth with games and fun for the kids. While that is going on the women and older adults will be making crafts. We’ll break for lunch and provide food for everyone and then in the afternoon we will have a music festival where all the churches perform. The day will probably end with music and dancing as it usually does.
