2007 Missional Emphases

“The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.”  Ephesians 4:11-13

In 2007, the congregation of Christ the King Lutheran Church resolves:

· To continue to develop our call to be good stewards of the congregation’s increasing resources by developing a long-range plan for the use of our money and property, by increasing to 250 the number of giving units who pledge annual financial contributions, and by stimulating increased giving by those who already make financial contributions.

· To identify and pursue new opportunities for all members of the congregation to participate in the global mission of the Church, with special emphasis on integrating the youth into the body of members who provide leadership in service and care ministries.

· To equip and accompany the saints for mission in the world through faith formation during the entire life cycle, from infant to elder, especially for families with teenagers, college students, and adults at stages of transition.

· To employ new resources to diversify and enrich worship styles and opportunities, especially by using Evangelical Lutheran Worship and incorporating more contemporary musical and liturgical settings into the 8:30 a.m. service.
