Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market)
On Saturday, December 10,
a Weihnachtsmarkt (German for Christmas Market) will be held in the courtyard
of Christ the King Lutheran Church. This event will be held from 10:30
a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the Deutsche Samstagsschule
(German Saturday-School), and the Houston/Leipzig Sister City Organization. Christ
the King Church will be represented by the Luther League selling crafts and food.
There will be performances by the children of the Samstagsschule, as well as Christmas
crafts, Christmas music, tower trumpeters, a visit by St. Nicholas, and Glühwein,
a beverage traditional to German Christmas celebrations. All are invited to attend.
