The November gathering of the Second Friday Filmgoers will be November 11 at the River Oaks Landmark Theatre on West Gray. The films available will be announced in the Sunday church bulletin as soon as they are posted by the theater.
We hope you will join us for dinner or a snack at 6:00 p.m.at the Epicurean Café, next door to the theater, where we will choose a film. Afterward we will gather for a discussion at the Epicurean Café over coffee or dessert. For more information or if you need a ride contact Anna Fay Williams.
The first fall gathering for the Second Friday Filmgoers was a real treat with a reception sponsored by the Houston Museum of Fine Arts for the Latin American Film Festival. Director Nicolas Echevarria was on hand to discuss his 1993 film, Cabeza de Vaca which continues to attract viewers. The film is a powerful depiction of the experiences of the conquistador as he gained miraculous healing powers among the Indians on his walk from Florida through Texas and New Mexico.
