With all the turbulence in the past months, donations to the Port Chaplaincy fund have dropped below the monthly ministry need. We support the fund through our church budget; however, if you would like to contribute to this ministry you may contribute at the Service and Care Fair on November 13 or through the church office.
The chaplains now must work harder and longer as seafarers cannot come off the ships for security reasons in 75% of the cases. They must supply telephones so they can call home and they must conduct worship on the ships. These changes affect all chaplains in American ports.
