Have you heard God’s voice? Are you listening? Are you nurturing your body with adequate nutrition, rest, activity? Are you paying attention to your emotional well-being, your level of stress, grief, anger, fear?
We are busy people continually adding more to our lives, professionally and personally. Life at times feels like a merry-go-round, spinning faster and faster until our vision is blurred, our hearing muffled. With each spin, we find it more difficult to catch our breath. Our world is turning and churning as we grow dizzier and out of balance.
To slow down and simplify means to gain perspective, to align our thoughts, catch our breath, gain equilibrium, listen and center ourselves on Christ. Living faithfully includes caring for our bodies, using our time wisely and caring for our possessions. Nurturing all our relationships, spending time with our family, friends and God, listening, sharing, praying and investing in our relationships are key as we support and are supported on our journey to living well in Christ.
As church schedules and the school calendar merge, meetings and activities begin to pick up. Breathe, pace yourself, define what a life of balance means for you. Live as a new creation, transformed in Christ. Be counter-cultural. Live well. Center yourself and answer God’s call, “Here I am, Lord, send me!”
That it May Be Well With You!
