National Cancer Survivors Day
National Cancer Survivors Day is Sunday,
June 5. We will be acknowledging in prayers of support and thanksgiving our congregants
who are cancer survivors. Christ the King Lutheran Church is a member of CanCare
of Houston, a non-profit cancer support network that trains volunteers to provide
one-on-one, long-term emotional support to cancer patients and their family members.
Volunteers are matched with newly diagnosed individuals based on cancer site,
treatment, age, gender, and family situation. We are thankful for our congregation
members who volunteer with CanCare: Patty Stone, Faith Venverloh, Betty Christensen,
Darbe and Shannon Gosda, and Brannon Lloyd. For more information on CanCare’s
