Artist Donates T&T

Fletcher Mackey graciously donated his time and talent by designing and painting a vibrant mural for our nursery. Following this Noah’s Ark theme, he plans to create another piece in the near future.

With a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the California Institute of the Arts, Fletcher has served in a variety of positions in his life, from developer and instructor of visual arts projects for children at the Museum of Fine Art in Houston, to teaching and lecturing at academic institutions, such as Houston’s High School for the Visual and the Performing Arts, Rice University, University of Houston, and Texas Southern University.

His experience extends across the visual arts spectrum, including art directing a feature-length film and coordinating The Houston Festival Bayou Show. Fletcher is currently the cultural programs director at Project Row Houses in Houston.

In his career, Fletcher has received several awards and participated in a long list of solo and group exhibitions and installations and media and performance art. He has completed numerous public art commissions and collections in schools, hospitals and museums as well as private homes.

Please stop by our nursery and take a peek at our striking new mural.
