Bring the whole family for food, fellowship and fun, when Wednesday Family Night activities resume this fall. Activities for adults and children will begin on September 8. Here are some highlights of the program:
Never fear, pizza will be available! But the Food Ministry will be serving up delicious meals as well. What a great opportunity for a convenient meal and fellowship.
Music Explorers
We welcome a new teacher – Debbie Whitmire - of the Musikgarten curriculum, a nationally recognized early childhood music and movement program. The primary goal of the program is for the children to experience the joy of making music with others, by singing, dancing and playing simple instruments. These activities help the child fulfill his or her music potential and provide a foundation for future musical learning.
The Jr. Music Explorers is open to 2 and 3 year old children and will meet from 6:00-6:30 p.m. Parents are expected to attend class with the child.
The Music Explorers is open to 4, 5 and 6 year-olds (Pre-K/Kindergarten) and will meet from 7-7:30 p.m. (After Godly Play – see next page). Parents are expected to attend class with the child.
Choristers
Children in Grades 1 and 2 can participate in the Jr. Choristers, which will meet from 6:00-6:30 p.m. Children will learn to praise God through song with age-appropriate music and movement activities. This year, the theme will be “Journey Through the Seasons.”
Children in Grades 3-5 can participate in the Choristers, which will meet
from 6:30-7:00 p.m. These children continue to praise God though song and learn
to be worship leaders by singing approximately once a month at either the first
or second service. This year, the theme will be “Lifestyle of the Poor
but Creative,” which will focus on famous composers.
Youth Choir
Kids in Grades 6-12 are encouraged to participate in the Youth Choir, which will meet from 7:00-7:30 p.m. These young adults prepare more difficult music, and also serve as worship leaders by singing approximately once a month at either the first or second service.
