Christ the King has been a loyal financial and volunteer supporter of the Hospitality Apartments for over 25 years. As partners in ministry, our church will sponsor a second dinner this year for the guests at the Hospitality Apartments on Thursday, September 30. We need members to provide informal entertainment, to donate food, to help serve, and/or to offer financial contributions for the dinner. This is an exceptional opportunity to extend our outreach to a neighborhood service organization.
The Hospitality Apartments (HRDF) provides free temporary
housing (up to three months) and a welcome environment for families in need
who receive medical treatment at the Texas Medical Center hospitals. Foundations,
individuals, corporations, and 21 local churches representing 9 denominations
support the HRDF - in existence for 35 years. The average stay is 7 weeks and
the cumulative occupancy rate is over 99%. The guests arrive from all over the
US and neighboring countries.
