"Lady Justice, We Got Problems in Houston"

Take a trip to a fictional courtroom and watch the others squirm as they are called to serve on The Jury, a brand new musical by Diana Howie and our own congregation member Anna Fay Williams.

"We are all so busy today that 'public service' is not even in our vocabulary, and the occasional jury summons strikes many as an undeserved punishment," says writer Diana Howie. "If you are chosen to actually serve on a jury, you are forced to spend time with people you might not ever encounter in your life, and you must have meaningful discussions with them. The clock keeps ticking. Hours pass in the courtroom trial. For those anxious to get back to work, there is a pressing urgency for a quick decision, and a push for judgement once the jury's deliberations begin. Actual consideration of the case at hand can get short shrift, and there's the rub for all of us. Anna Fay captures these conflicts wonderfully (and humorously) in her songs for The Jury."

The Jury will play Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 4:00 p.m., February 20 - March 6. Tickets are $10. Call the Playhouse Box Office 713-467-4497 for reservations, or 713-784-1750 for more information and reservations. The Country Playhouse is located at 12802 Queensbury, 77024, in Town & Country Village, just southeast of I-10 W & Beltway 8.
