A few words about members experiences:
Marie Monroe:
We've only had a few lessons so far but already the children are busily making the connections in their minds. Yesterday I was telling them the story of the Holy Family and asked one of the wondering questions, "I wonder if you have ever seen a part of the Holy Family in your church?" One of them, a 4-year-old, took only a minute to reply, "Yes, I see them all around me, sitting in the pews on Sunday." We would invite any 4-5 years olds to attend on Sunday morning, and on Wednesday we have a 4-5 class from 6-6:30 and one for 1st-3rd grade from 7-8.
Pr. Karin Liebster:
The lesson on the liturgical year is one of the first in the school year. It is told with the help of a circle of wooden blocks like a clock with colors for the different seasons. One of the 52 blocks is red. The storyteller usually pretends to get almost burned when they touch it with a finger: This is what I heard a 4 year old say a few days later:
"You know there is Advent before Christmas, and Lent before Easter. And then there is P-e-n-t-e-c-o-s-t. I touched it with my finger, but (and thereby shaking the head quite vigorously), it is not hot!"
