Lutherans Are Numero Uno as
Social Service Providers
The Rev. Mark S. Hanson, ELCA Presiding
Bishop, announced at the ELCA Churchwide Assembly on August 11, 2003, that "Lutherans
are the largest providers of non-profit social services in the United States.
We will continue to step forward in healing and social services ministry."
