Our congregation practices hospitality in many ways. One way is by supporting the Human Resource and Development Foundation's Hospitality Apartments, which are located near the Texas Medical Center. Since 1981, Christ the King has provided financial support to these apartments, which offer up to three months' free housing for patients (and their families) who are receiving treatment in neighboring hospitals and are in need of financial assistance.
In October, our congregation will have the opportunity to extend hospitality to the apartment guests by providing a meal for them. Volunteers are needed to provide food adn entertainment for the evening meal on Thursday, October 9. Those providing food may either join other diners at the apartments or bring their dishes tot he church offices by 5:30 p.m. before the meal.
Please call Naomi Nelson by September 30 if you are interested in contributing food or informal music or entertainment. It will be an exceptional evening for you.
