In August our congregation will participate along with thousands of churches around the world in collecting Shoes for Orphan Souls. Our campaign will culminate on the last Sunday of the month, August 31. Everyone is invited to come to church barefoot, bringing new, sturdy shoes, socks and/or shoe laces for the many orphanages supported by the Shoes for Orphan Souls program of Buckner Childcare International.
Shoes for Orphan Souls has distributed over 700,000 pairs of shoes to orphans all over the world since 1999. While our program has certainly made a difference in many children's lives, there are millions of other children we can reach — all through a pair of shoes. Let a child know that he or she has not been forgotten.
