Summer Youth Ministry Intern
Mike Patterson is a 20 year-old Junior at
Texas Lutheran University majoring in Youth Ministry. He will be coming to Christ
the King Church starting May 24 as the Summer Youth Ministry Intern. He is a Houston
native and lifetime member of the ELCA. He was baptized and confirmed at his home
congregation Zion Lutheran in the Heights. He is a graduate of Lutheran High North
(class of 2001) and former President of the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod Lutheran
Youth Organization. In his spare time he is an avid music lover who likes to play
the guitar, is learning piano, and harmonica, and also participates as a scholarship
member of the Texas Lutheran University Choir. With the choir, he has toured across
Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. He hopes to use music to aid in his ministry
at Christ the King Church. After he graduates from TLU, Mike is wanting to go
into youth ministry full time or possibly teach. Mike is looking forward to coming
to Christ the King Church and excited to get to know the youth on a programatic
and relational level.
