Houston Food Bank, April 12

This year CTK will once again be volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. Volunteers are needed to assess and sort boxes of food items and household products donated by local grocery stores and collected at food drives. Other duties include repackaging bulk items and re-labeling products.

Last year, the Food Bank provided more than 23 million pounds of food and other essentials to about 500 member programs in its 18-county service area. Member programs include food pantry programs in churches and community centers, shelters for the homeless, safe havens for abused women and children, and nutrition programs for children and the elderly.

Our next trip to the Food Bank will be Saturday April 12th. We will meet in the church parking lot at 7:40 a.m. and will return at noon. Future dates planned are June 14, August 9, October 11, and December 13. If you would like to participate, please contact Mary Ayres.
