Finding the time to be prepared for the future is sometimes difficult, especially if it involves an uncomfortable subject. At the last Congregational Care Team meeting, David Hollrah explained the benefits of the Advanced Directive to Physician and the Power of Attorney for Healthcare. These documents become very important if a person is unable to communicate his or her desires for medical treatment. For those choosing to utilize these forms, it is recommended that multiple copies be made, one of which could be kept on file in the church office. In addition, a form for addressing funeral service desires such as favorite hymns or scripture texts will soon be available. All forms filed in the church office would be accessible only by the pastors. If you would like to view any of these documents for your own use please send a request to Linda Schoene, Parish Nurse.
On a more positive note, a plan for beginning monthly blood pressure screenings after each worship service is underway. To be effective, volunteers are needed. If you would like to help take blood pressures or have access to reliable blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes please contact Linda Schoene.
