Pastor Matthias Morgenstern to Preach for the German Easter Service

The Rev. Dr. Matthias Morgenstern will preach at 2:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday in the Ostermesse for the German-language ministry of Christ the King Lutheran Church. A reception by the consulates general of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria will follow the service.

Dr. Morgenstern is Associate Professor for Jewish Studies at the University of Tübingen. He is a pastor in the Protestant Church of Württemberg. Pr. Morgenstern studied theology in the universities of Tübingen, Zürich, and Bern. He is a prolific writer and has published several books including From Frankfurt to Jerusalem: Isaac Breuer and the History of the Secession Dispute in Modern Jewish Orthodoxy. The Melanchthon Institute had a small role to play in the translation of this book from the German original. Pr. Morgenstern is married to Gabriela. They have three young children.
