Peter Kopp will direct the Concert Chorale of University of Houston's Moores School of Music in a program featuring the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert will be held in the nave of Christ the King Lutheran Church on February 7, at 7:30 p.m. The Chorale will sing "Jesu, meine Freude," BMW 227.
Dr. Robert Bates, Associate Professor of Organ at the Moores School and internationally known recording artist and composer, is also featured on the program. Dr. Bates will play Partita on "O Gott, du frommer Gott" (9 variations), BWV 767, and Pièce d'orgue, BWV 572. Alan Austin, principal violinist and concertmaster of the Bach Society Orchestra, and harpsichordist, Christina Edelen, member of faculty at the Moores School will play Sonata No. 6 in G Major, BMV 1019.
There is no admission fee for the concert.
