Our congregation has been conscientiously and prayerfully expanding our service and care ministries for several years. We have further developed a Con-gregational Care Team, created the Lay Eucharistic Ministry, and added a Parish Nurse to our staff.
We now have an opportunity to expand all of our service and care ministries through the Community of Hope lay ministry training. This 14-week, 42-hour training was developed at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in 1994, and it is now used at over 60 institutions across the nation. Its purpose is to awaken trainees to God's call in their lives and to help them discover their spiritual gifts for ministry.
Classes will be on Mondays from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. The first class will be January 20; the class will culminate with a commissioning on Sunday, April 27.
Class size is limited. For more information, contact Peggy Sale, Diane Persson, or Beverly Davis, all graduates of Community of Hope training. To register, please contact Director of Member Involvement, Beverly Davis at 713-523-2864, ext 27.
